Our Expedition Centre in Mongolia is based on two sites at Lake Hovsgol. The main facility is set in a lakeside meadow carpeted with edelweiss and wild thyme a half hour boat trip up the western lakeshore from the village of Hatgal.

This unique enterprise offers superb facilities including high quality accommodation, with hot showers, in lodges and gers. Our glass-fronted restaurant looking out over the lake serves excellent food and drink, prepared by our English and Mongolian cooks.

The lodges were designed by an eminent UK architect, built in our own workshops and on-site. Each lodge has three double bedrooms, a living room with glazed front and deck, shower and toilet facilities.

In addition to the lodges we have accommodation in gers, the traditional, round, felt covered tent of the nomads, constructed with wooden lattice walls and poled roof. Sleeping up to 4 people, a wood burning stove heats these comfortable and cosy bedrooms. Hot showers and compost toilets are located near the gers.

Our second site is in the village of Hatgal, at the southern tip of Lake Hovsgol, where a 4^th World Adventure design initiative and a major restoration project, has led to the creation of Garage 24, a distinctive travellers hostel, supported by workshops, and vegetable garden.

Here we have rebuilt and developed former Soviet era garages, the original Garage 24, to create excellent facilities that include gers and bunkroom dormitories, hot showers, plus a restaurant and bar with south-facing veranda.Garage 24, is the logistics centre for our expeditions and our rigid inflatable boat ferries guests between our two sites.
