New works by Mongolian artist Choindongiin Khurelbaatar will be
shown for the first time including beautiful and remote landscapes
and traditional images oil/canvas paintings.
Inspired by his frequent travels in Mongolia, where he has established
an eco-tourist site for adventure travellers on the shores of
Lake Hovsgol, Simon Moyle of 4th World Adventure spoke in 2003
of 'the importance of Mongolia's evolving fine artists' and how
he wished to' introduce the British public to the brilliance and
originality of contemporary Mongolian Art'.
Mongolian Art Today was launched shortly after an exhibition
of a group of the country's leading artists. One of the artists
Choindonglin Khurelbaatar was offerred a one man show for 2004
and audiences then had the chance to admire a whole body of his
work and experience its full versatility.
Now we see how he has been able to develop the themes that remain
his inspirations; the unique Mongolian landscape alongside his
fascination with the mystery of Shamanism which remains active
in the remote parts of the Steppes.
In the work that that forms Khurelbaatar's exhibitions visitors
can
see that Choindonglin Khurelbaatar has firmly established himself
as one of
Mongolia's finest contemporary artists.
